A Pedorthist is a healthcare professional who’s goal is to achieve and maintain proper foot care and lower limb health. Canadian Certified Pedorthist’s – C. Ped (C) – are foot orthotic and orthopedic footwear experts trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and muscle and joint function.
Pedorthist Evaluation and Treatment
On your initial visit to the Pedorthist you will be asked your relevant medical and surgical history. This will be followed by a biomechanical examination and a gait analysis. Based on the assessment findings, a treatment plan is developed to help alleviate the specific needs and issues you are facing. When appropriate, we design and manufacture custom made foot orthotics when they are prescribed by a physician. We also educate and give recommendations for appropriate footwear to help you find a good fit.
There are many conditions that can be treated with professional Pedorthist care. If you suffer from any of the following conditions, you may benefit from the services of a Canadian Certified Pedorthist.
- Circulatory Problems
- Gout or Arthritis
- Soft Tissue problems
- Sports Injuries
- Plantar Fascitis – pain on the base of the foot
